As a Game Designer, you will work collaboratively to conceptualise and deliver exceptional gameplay experiences, designed to service the creative and practical needs of the product and IP. This is a full-time, fixed-term 24 month, contract position with the possibility of ongoing employment, though make no mistake, you will be a critical part of the LoG family.

Requirements:
- 3+ years role-relevant experience working on commercially released videogames.
- Demonstrable experience in Unreal Engine and Blueprint, delivering and maintaining robust gameplay scripts.
- Thorough understanding of Unreal Engine’s content development pipeline.
- Experience working in a highly iterative, playtest-driven design and production practice.
- Passion for creating elegant, scope-conscious designs, and adept at doing a lot with a little.
- Experience delivering gameplay experiences and features, both autonomously and under guidance.
- Confident and informed articulation of technical requirements, risks and opportunities.
- A commitment to working in a professional, inclusive and supportive environment.
- Ability to work independently; managing time, task lists and workflow with ease.
- Detail sensitivity, a proven aesthetic eye and strong design sensibilities.
- Excellent communication, creative collaboration and teamwork skills.
Responsibilities:
As a Game Designer at League of Geeks, you will own the iterative development of significant gameplay content and features from concept to execution.
Working closely with the Principal Designer, you will develop and internally pitch gameplay concepts that deliver on the creative needs of the game, ensuring compliance to production and IP constraints. You will play a key on-the-tools role in bringing this gameplay to life, iteratively collaborating with all disciplines to guide content through to its final, polished implementation in Unreal Engine.
- Deliver scripted gameplay interactions and sequences, with support from engineering disciplines and project leads.
- Iterate and refine gameplay in response to playtesting and feedback, honing the moment-to-moment player experience to a world-class standard.
- Internally pitch novel gameplay content, in response to the needs of the product and audience.
- Produce streamlined prototypes, working with minimal external dependencies, that validate gameplay solutions against identified design risks.
- Communicate design and technical requirements, opportunities and risks proactively and professionally.
- Create, maintain and present highly readable, concise design documentation to communicate intent and requirements across the team.
- Embody design as a collaborative, flexible practice, contributing to a work culture of meaningful feedback, creativity and growth.

Important Stuff:
- Remuneration on offer (excluding benefits such as superannuation) is between $72,600k - $93,300k p.a AUD, dependent on experience and expertise of the applicant.
- We are currently working under a work-from-home model, and plan on returning to our Melbourne studio in the next 12 months.
-- This role can be held remotely (AEST+/-4hr timezones only) until our return to studio.
-- Return to studio will be three days in-studio, two days optional WFH.
-- During the interview process remote work options can be requested for exceptional circumstances. - All interview stages will take place via video conference.
