Hotfix 0.3.1p1 [PC/Mac/Linux] (patch 1) Notes
« on: February 26, 2015, 04:12:48 PM »
Hey all!

We've just released a hotfix patch today that resolves a few critical issues with the latest release (0.3.1) - it fixes some rare issues that would cause NMAs (No More Actions) in single and multiplayer games in the late-game (after some heroes had attempted Palace Perils and failed), as well as improving our support for certain AMD processors with regards to our min-spec registration.

We've been getting several bug reports through from players with multiple graphics cards on their machine (ie. laptops with a gaming graphics card and an integrated graphics card for use on power-saving mode), where they're expecting the game to automatically use the dedicated card but their machine is actually using the integrated graphics card.

Unfortunately we're not able to detect that you have multiple graphics cards and get Armello to use the one you want it to use - it's up to you to activate the graphics card you want to use on your computer. For most graphics cards, you can do this in the vendor's control panel - visit your graphics card vendor's website to learn more.

Thanks for playing everyone! I know I'm personally having a blast with the Rot changes in this update (not to mention those new King's Declarations). The only issue now is that my Sana wins every game. Oh well.

And here's your TL;DR - these issues should now be fixed:
- Players getting stuck when taking their turns after attempting Palace Perils. (NMA)
- Min spec incorrectly being applied to some AMD processors.
- Leaving a queue while playing a single player game quitting that game.
- Multiplayer breaking when players are auto-assigned characters.

I noticed that most equipment which reduced fight to add symbols now reduces dice.  However, the effect of Feral still affects the Fight stat.  This makes some interactions with heroes like Sana different.  Is this intentional, or an oversight that needs to be fixed?

Hi ImNotSue,

In regards to the Feral Spell it very much so was intentional. Going aggressive and crazy doesn't align with Sana's ability which should require her magic focus. We are reviewing other changes for example the Battle Axe which makes sense to revert back to the original effect +1 Fight.

We are reviewing these changes and play testing them to find the best balance, find mechanics that make the most sense and tell the best narrative.

Its going to take a little tweaking of the machine to get this perfect.

Keep sharing your thoughts we keep a keen eye on feedback to system changes :)

Sana's animations very much involve hitting things with her staff.  Yes green stuff flies out of it, but it's still a violent attack; it's always going to be improved by Swords and Halberds, taking Axe out isn't going to work.  Making Fight bonuses not work on "Sage mode Sana" just means that more cards in the game become "Worthless" to her.  Unless it's determined that Sage Sana is overpowered in battle, It'll never be balanced for Sana to be punished because the RNG gives her Axes and Ferals instead of drawing Swords or Mirror Images that work like ever other character.

Well, to me makes sense separating "regular weapons" from "alternative damage weapons". After all Fight is the standard damage source and Bane Blade was just the first of many treasures that may be supporting alternative damage.
No longer around...

The Bane blade is still a blade, you are still cutting with it even if it magically burns the target it cuts.  Until they make guns, or magical flamethrowers that completely ignore your fight stat, there is not such thing as an "alternate damage weapon".
