IMPORTANT! Read This Before Posting!

Hey there! Welcome!

We're pretty chillaxed around here at LoG, but we strongly suggest you read through these forum guidelines. The knowledge here is guaranteed to make your time on the LoG Forums a whole lot easier and enjoyable. Not to mention it will make this whole ship run a lot smoother.

I - The Environment
II - Inclusivity
IV - Flaming
V - Trolling
VI - Thread Necromancy
VII - Thread Hijacking
VIII - Advertising & Copyrighted Material
IX - Vigilantism
X - Constructive Criticism
XI - Multiple Accounts

I - The LoG Forums Environment
These forums are a place for the League of Geeks family to come and talk about anything and everything, with a focus on our games and other League of Geeks endeavours.

There are members of all ages and walks of life in the LoG family and on the LoG forums. As a result the maturity of threads varies from thread to thread and although we are very sensitive about ensuring a safe and welcoming environment we encourage people to simply move on to the next thread if they believe a thread's subject matter, or the things members are talking about, are below them. If a thread genuinely feels offensive and out of place on these forums, be sure to report it. We investigate every single report.

Keep it friendly, warm and act towards others as you would like others to act unto yourself. We won't tolerate entitled opinions or offensive arguments. Remain civil and if you are to debate something be sure you know what you're talking about... especially if it is directed towards LoG. Under no circumstances will we tolerate unfounded hostility towards our studio or our developers and collaborators.

Additionally, it is important for younger members to understand that a high post count does not mean you gain more respect or attention here. With this in mind please don't try to reply to every single active thread on these forums unless you have something useful to add to the conversation. Contributing to the collective value of the community through the quality of carefully curated individual posts/replies is how you will gain respect and make friends.

II - Inclusivity
Inclusivity is all about not being a behind-the-times grade A asshole, basically.

At LoG we are incredibly committed to creating an inclusive, comfortable and friendly environment to all people. This extends through everything we do from the culture of our studio and hiring processes, through to the design of our games and - you betcha! - our online communities too.

If we spot ANYONE acting in a manner that is unlawful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, libelous, deceptive, fraudulent, invasive of anotherÂ’'s privacy, tortuous, contains explicit or graphic descriptions or accounts of sexual acts (including but not limited to sexual language of a violent or threatening nature directed at another individual or group of individuals)... you will be banned from every LoG online community INSTANTLY and FOREVER.

I cannot stress enough how emphatically serious we are about this at LoG.

Any behaviour that victimizes, harasses, degrades, or intimidates an individual or group of individuals on the basis of religion, gender, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, age, or disability, has no place in our community and never will.

If our stance on this sounds awesome to you, well, you're awesome! Welcome! <3

  • Posting one liners. Replying to a thread and just saying something like "hey!" "yeah!" "lol" "I agree" "no" etc..
  • Posting the same thread/post repeatedly in order to gain attention.
  • Posting something completely off-topic (OT) that has nothing to do with the thread.
  • Posting in a thread to simply "bump" it back to the top of the forum listings with no additional or useful content.

IV - Flaming
Posting personally or generally insulting remarks towards someone else, or a group of people (examples include calling someone an "idiot" for having views different to your own or being particularly demeaning to someone who is younger than yourself).

Don't do it. You'll be banned.

Not. Even. Kidding.

V - Trolling
Deliberately attempting to goad people into a "flame war" by posting disparaging remarks or comments that you know will incite a negative or nasty response.

Again. You'll be banned.

We'll laugh as we push the 'ban' button, then lean back in our chairs and cheers our champagne glasses.

VI - Thread Necromancy
Reviving a "dead thread" (a thread that has had no new posts in it for more than a month) with something that has no relevance to it. For example posting "hey cool" (see SPAM) or "that was really helpful, thanks".

Please look at the date of the last post in a thread before posting something that lacks any real substance. If it was a month or more ago you can assume that this thread is dead, and unless you have something constructive to add that will continue the discussion, don't bother.

VII - Thread Hijacking
Posting something unrelated to the topic in order to gain attention for your post or simply to steer people off the main topic.

Jerks do this. You may not be banned, but you'll be a jerk. Which is likely worse.

VIII - Advertising & Copyrighted Material
The posting of links or material for a site that you own or are representing without a decent amount of information supplied with it or good reason to be posting it in the LoG Forums

Let's get this out of the way here; These are our forums. We're a cool studio, we're real chill, sure. Buuuut, we are also a business. If you are posting bullshit links/advertising/copyrighted material to the forums that could impact our livelihood negatively we are going to purge it from the forums and very likely you with it.

We will not tolerate anything that could affect our ability to sustain our studio, the talented people who depend on its future and our wonderful community that want to see LoG continuing to craft incredible experiences.

Do not test us on this.

IX - Vigilantism
Performing a moderators job or impersonating a moderator by telling someone they have done something wrong or against the rules.

There is a "Report" button underneath each and every post on these forums -- if you believe someone has broken the rules please use this feature and a moderator will be there to sort it out pretty quickly. It is not your job to tell others what they can and cannot do on these forums.

X - Constructive Criticism
Voicing your concern about a members fan art, fiction, etc, in a constructive and genuinely helpful manner.

Constructive criticism is awesome. It requires both parts:
Constructive = Providing a solution
Criticism = Voicing concern
Contrary to popular internet beliefs, constructive criticism is NOT directed at any person or group of people. Any comments that are directed at people can fall under vigilantism, flaming and trolling.

XI - Multiple Accounts
Being active in the forums and posting with multiple accounts, whether known or not.

Only one account per person please. If you can't post with your main account it's likely what you're writing isn't going to be productive in this community and you might find your old account removed too. The only exception to this rule are admins / moderators which have normal accounts for testing the site without elevated privileges.
