New Equip Card Suggestions
« on: December 17, 2016, 08:14:07 AM »
Magic Bag of Holding
Symbol: Wyld
Cost: 9 Gold
Effect: Instantly raises your Wits stat to 10 and if you have any AP left at the end of your turn will activate an ability similar to the Temple Ruins tile without a chance for Rot or a Bane.

Cursed Bag of Rot
Symbol: Rot
Cost: 9 Gold
Effect: Nearly identical to Magic Bag of Holding, when it's AP effect is activated you instantly gain +1 Rot and lose -1 Health.  It also has double the chance of summoning a Bane as a Temple Ruins tile.  While not equipped it appears identical to the Magic Bag of Holding save for the fact that it's symbol shows.

Simple Stone Sword
Symbol: Attack
Cost: 1 Gold
Effect: Adds one Attack during your next 3 battles.  After that it disappears.

Simple Wooden Shield
Symbol: Defend
Cost: 1 Gold
Effect: Same as Simple Stone Sword except with Defend.

Pure Wyld Idol
Symbol: Wyld
Cost: 5 Gold
Effect: Removes up to 5 points of Rot and makes your hero immune to Rot until they'd have otherwise taken 5 points of Rot in total.  Cannot be unequipped but will disappear 3 turns after it's equipped.

Corrupted Rot Idol
Symbol: Rot
Cost: 5 Gold
Effect: -1 Spirit and +1 Rot every turn  for 3 turns.  If you have no Rot when it's equipped +5 Rot.  Cannot be unequipped but will disappear after the 3 turns.  Similarly to the Cursed Bag of Rot, it's identical to it's aforementioned counterpart before equipping it save for it's symbol.

So let me clarify something- are the wyld/rot treasures distinct as card before they are equipped, or is the "looks just like the other" only for the card art?

While disposable gear seems interesting, I think you'd need to make them free or buff the number of battles they could be in.

Prior to equipping. the treasure equip cards appear identical in nearly every way.  The Rot treasures listed even have the same name. prior to, only revealing their true artwork and name after having been equipped..  They're meant to be deceptive if you're not paying enough attention.

And you may be right about that.  Having a 0 cost or buffing their uses would make them more usable.

This one may or may not belong here but I'm putting it here anyway.

Master-at-Arms
Companion
Symbol: Attack
Cost: 7 Gold
Effect: Allows Equip cards to be placed in Companion card slots at double their normal equipment price.

Blind Seer
Companion - Wyld Symbol
Cost: 4 Mana
Effect: Perils within a 3 tile radius will be revealed when you hover over them.  Revealing them shows the Peril's card and how many symbols it has.  This effect does not work on Castle Perils.

For blind seer, why not just have "scout" for 3 tiles instead of 1?

Companions don't normally cost gold anymore.

Because there are more than enough cards that grant the scouting effect.  This one doesn't grant Scouting, it reveals Perils.

Normal scouting is only range 1, but DOES reveal perils.  So something that granted range 3 scouted would do everything you suggested and more.

It would potentially be overpowered to constantly give a 3 tile radius revealed state.  Wouldn't it?  My way makes it so that "Blind Seer" is still viable but doesn't have the reveal effect.

The difference between "Scout" vs Peril Vision is whether you can see players or quests as well.   If you have an inkling where someone is, 1 radius scout vs 3 isn't going to make a difference unless you want to play a hero card and not attack directly.  Quest vision can be handy but likewise i doubt a longer range version of it would be OP.

No "Blind Seer" only reveals perils.  Knowing where your opposition is and being able to see their quests isn't something this card can do.  Those things are up to your discretion.

Magic Bag of Holding:  This card is INSANELY OP!  In a normal game I have never gotten my wits to be more than 10 and having a card that does that is nuts.  Also characters with low wits will all use this card to insane effects because they get more wits than the person with 6 wits, and in the process remove a significant downside of the character.  And on top of that you get a free dungeon every turn!  It doesn't even have the downside of the dungeon.  This is way OP.

Magic Rot Bag: Same as before but the ability to gain rot would make this card insane for a rot victory.  The reason rot victories are balanced is because at the start rot is sort of hard to get.  This changes that and let's you get a rot a turn if you chose, making rot victories much easier to do.  When you enter the king battle you instantly get all of his dice because you have been getting an insane amount of rot.  Also just have it look like a separate card.  It will just cause cheap equips on players who didn't notice the symbol and if they do then the card isn't changed at all.

Simple stone sword:  Why would Inplay this when shining sword exists

Simple wooden shield:  Same as before

Wyld Idol:  This is interesting but I feel it is way too powerful.  Being able to instantly cleanse yourself would be way powerful.  I think there is a reason why the devs  havn't added many card that remove rot.

Rot Idol: Again this makes a rot victory much easier.  With no rot you can instantly become corrupted, skipping the hardest part of a rot victory.  Getting corrupted.  Again, have diffrent pictures.

As a fix for the bag treasures,  instead of increasing your Wits stat to 10 instantly the "Magic Bag of Holding" and "Cursed Bag of Rot" only have the effects of increasing the amount of cards you can hold to 10.  The major difference then is that "Cursed Bag of Rot" adds 1 Rot when you try to equip it and gradually saps health -1 HP at the start of every turn.  Remember, using the "Cursed Bag of Rot" is supposed to hurt even if you are going for a Rot victory, what I was going for is "pay attention to your cards before you equip them or this will hurt".  The bags and the Idols are supposed to be treasures.

Also, to fix the Simple weapons, they have a gold cost of 0 but in return for them being so easy to equip, they're only temporary.  And they're regular items, not treasures.

New treasure card suggestion
Shield of the Phalanx
Symbol: Shield
Cost: 6 Gold
Effect: During battle, 1 card your opponent has equipped that affects battle is randomly selected and negated until the battle is over.  With the exception of the King's treasures.
