Armello Calc prototype
« on: November 05, 2016, 01:04:36 PM »
I don't post here very often, but I thought this was worth sharing.

TL;DR:
Wanted to know the chance of rolling at least a certain amount of damage with a certain amount of dice? well,
https://www.desmos.com/calculator/wmn8ylmrjs

I started thinking about this around the first time I posted a math thread;  is there a function that would tell me the chance of rolling at least x amount of attacks if I had z dice? After a few attempts I found it was beyond my ability. I continued to work on it on and off, until I actually started getting somewhere. After some research into probability and combinatorics, and looking at tables of data to find patterns, I was able to find a function that matched all of my code simulated data exactly. I threw it up on desmos and made a comprehensive interface for it and viola, a prototype for a calculator. From this I would theoretically be able use the function to find the probability of a certain outcome of any battle, but I am most likely going to take a break from this for now. I may pick it back up after exams this term.

Enjoy
