Greetings Armello Friends and Family!

v1.4 Battle Tides is just around the corner and it's time to share some of the juicy details of this upcoming free content update. I hope you're excited for us to shake up the game with some glorious new goodies. Among a long list of features and fixes, we have three major features that will be unveiled leading up to the release of Battle Tides.

Without further ado, here are the spoilers for v1.4 Battle Tides...



Five new cards will be gracing the land of Armello. As these are revealed, they will be posted here!

"Heave! ... Heave! ... Heave!"


Art and animation for Palisade Walls was done by Armello card-art mastermind, Jerome Jacinto! Keep intruders out of your claimed settlements to protect your income and Land Owner buff. This will fuel efficient card play, turning you into a Trickery-card-playing machine!


"The savvy fear blades in the dark. The wise fear the blade that brings the dark."


Art and animation for Poisoned Dagger was done by art-lord Simon Boxer! Poisoned Dagger is the perfect tool to allow you to cycle out Rot cards that may be cluttering your hand, potentially poisoning your opponent in the process. Alternatively, as Poisoned Dagger grants a Rot when equipped, it behaves as another tool to plunge further down the path of corruption.




Two new "Special Dice" have been implemented to Armello's combat, and with that comes significant improvements to Combat in general. They may seem like small adjustments but after you experience a cutthroat combat or two, you'll feel the difference.

Blake Mizzi, LoG cofounder and design guru to explain the ins and outs of it here. But here's the TLDR,

"So what has changed;  We have added two NEW types of special dice to complement the existing ‘pierce dice’; These three special battle dice are:

Pierce – Penetrates and “pierces” an opponent’s shield to still cause damage, and destroys blocking shield.
Reflect – Blocks the incoming hit and bounces back the damage to the attacker, which may be blocked again by their own defences.
Poison – If this hit isn’t blocked and thus causes a wound to the target, it will “poison” the victim.

A new general special rule applies to all special dice from here forward; IF two special dice collide they will cancel each other out and behave as their base dice type. Thus a ‘pierce’ dice meeting a ‘reflect’ dice won’t pierce the ‘reflect’ and the ‘reflect’ won’t bounce back a ‘piercing’ dice."


Additionally, "Special dice like the old ‘pierce’ dice now won’t automatically shuffle to the front of the attack queue".



We've been keeping an eye on how you, our beautiful players interact with each other and we've made a few changes! LoG co-founder, Trent "good hair" Kusters bares all the juicy details here. We've replaced a few lesser used chat options with some much needed additions, including the following,

"Exclaim" > "Curse" for when the Wyld fails to shine upon you.
"Truce" > "Hero" to suggest an allegiance in a pinch.
"Farewell" - the perfect way to end a match, or an opponent.

I'm more concerned Ratcrundy will use his deep pockets to fortify all his towns giving him protected trickery cost reduction. It'll depend on how many of these cards are in the deck.

Heh... either way, the game has more interesting twists!

A town with fortification  and a peril in it has a few resources invested, but man, that thing is going to be very unappealing to thieves!

The Fourth Season of Throne Battle is already near! The Battle Tide is coming!

Thane, River, Sana, Zosha, Barnaby... They've through many tales of Throne Rush. A classic Armellian tale was told many times... But now... The combat is going to change... And a new heroes will arrive!

Magna, the Unbroken. Leader of the Iron Guard.
Elyssia, Wardress of Warrens, the brilliant carpenter.
Sargon, Death Teller. A Dark Oracle, who prophecised the King's fall.
And Ghor, the Wyldkin. One with the woods.

Not to mention heroes will have new Equipment cards up their sleeve, and new trickeries to surprise enemies with. And new spell forces will visit Armello. And the last, but not least-

Wait a minute... Who's there?! Oh, Barnaby, it's you again! Yes, this guy is my regular visitor. Guess I have to go now...

When's Battle Tides coming to PS4?

Also did local multiplayer make teh cut?! I would love to play this game with friends... not just over the wire.

Local Multiplayer isn't on the horizon yet, because the Stealth mechanics don't really support it.

Hey bbyford,

We're ironing out some kinks in v1.4 on PS4 before we release it - but we're working on it as quick as we can! So soon :)

As Local Multiplayer; like Kletian said hotseat/local multiplayer is not something we ever planned or budgeted for. As such, there are a bunch of mechanical hurdles standing in the way of this being a reality.

looking forward to the new update, but still think its a shame no local multiplayer / pass the pad style.
