AI personalities?

I was re-reading the last update on kickstarter, and it made me curious about something.

We know there will be AI that controls each character. But will that AI be unique to each character? Will Thane be more aggressive, Sana more peaceful?

I'm just curious.

I can only imagine the time and effort it takes to program good strategy game AI. In my never-humble opinion, > 95% of them are bad and not worth playing against unless you want an ego boost. Typically, the only way to challenge yourself is to raise the difficulty, which usually just makes you face more units and strips you of resources--having nothing to do with the AI. Ironically, some of the best came from really old games (from TSR and SSI).

Your persistent (and unenviable) challenge will be maintaining said personalities while avoiding the predictability that comes with fixed action patterns that can be exploited. This will mainly be a game I want to play online, but I am curious to see how you pull the single player off.

How indepth are you going!?! are you just changing an Integer from perhaps 10% aggresive to 90% or is it way more complex?!

I imagine that the A.I. for each character would be less about their personality and more about their stats; Sana has a super low fighting ability to start, so she should probably be going out of her way to avoid fights until she can get an advantage. Likewise, I'd expect Thane to be attempting to force fights whenever possible.

Granted, those do kind of fit their personalities, but eh.

Wait what? Really? Wow thats pretty cool. Even the npc cast factors into gameplay. I am very impressed. Do NPC's have set cards or do they fluctuate?
