Hey y’all,

That's right everyone, the full release of Armello is here!

We've polished, tweaked and prepared this build for it's full release to the world and we're excited for the Armello community to grow and share their epic battles with us. So without further ado, here's the build notes.

Please note that we've probably missed a few things, but will edit as we discover any errors/omissions.

Features/Changes
Heroes
  • We can now officially introduce 4 new heroes into the land of Armello:
    • River (Wolf): Shoots her bow for 1 damage before initiating Battle. If her target is Killed she stays her ground (still consumes AP).
    • Barnaby (Rabbit):  Equipping over an Item in your Inventory will return it to your hand with the cost/gain removed.
    • Zosha (Rat): At Night, Zosha gains Stealth everywhere except the Palace.
    • Brun (Bear): +1 Fight for each Spell cast until the end of your next Battle or the end of your next turn.

Cards
  • This build introduces 5 new cards including 2 Followers and 3 Treasures!
    • Bard (Follower): +1 Prestige when you successfully escape a Peril.
    • Mirror Cape (Treasure): In Battle, copy the effect of an opponent's Item.
    • Squire (Follower): If Killed in Battle, the Squire takes the Hits instead and Dies.
    • Masquerade Mask (Treasure): +1 Wits at Day and +1 Spirit at Night.
    • Alchemist (Follower): +1 to a random Stat, every Turn.
  • Palace Tiles now have their own art:
    • Mother’s Maze
    • The Unseen Death
    • The Tricking Paths
    • Fool’s Fountain
  • Card changes:
    • Lord’s Sceptre (Item): +1 Prestige for each Claimed Settlement under control.
    • Apothecary (Follower): +2 Health whenever you Heal.
    • Plague Bearers (Trickery): (Play on) Swamps, Dungeons; -2 Health. If kills target, +1 Rot.
    • Mirror Image (Spell): (Play on) Creature; In Battle, opponents have -2 Dice, until end of target's next Turn.
    • Moonbite (Spell): (Play on) Creature, Dungeon, Plains; -2 Health at Night or -1 Health during the Day.

The Prologue
  • A brand new section has been added to the game to help new players understand the core concepts of the game, as well as provide an introduction to the world and story of Armello. Play through the four acts as Thane, Mercurio, Amber, and Sana, and discover what’s going wrong in the land.

Gameplay Changes
  • Landowner - Trickery discount:
    • Owning two or more settlements now nets you a discount to Trickery cards that cost Gold - each settlement you control beyond your first will give you a -1 discount to Trickery cards.
  • King’s Guards and Bane’s can no longer be Ambushed.
  • Chat System has been given an overhaul - this includes unique chat strings and an easier to use interface.

Audio
  • New sounds for:
    • Seagulls during the day and crows at night.
    • When the Sundial turns.
    • When the player needs to select their Quest (reminder).
    • Exploring dungeons.
    • Quest positive and negative icons.
    • Amulet and Ring selection states.
    • 2D Combat screen.
    • Dawn Prestige screen.
    • Perils placed and upgraded.
    • AI card draws.
    • Card shuffles, reveals and returned to hand.
    • User interface Clicks.
    • King’s Declaration choices.
    • When a terrorised settlement is saved.

Rings & Amulets
  • Diamond Signet change: Gain 1 prestige for each equipped Treasure and recruited Follower.
  • Ruby Ring change: First rolled Sword in Battle Explodes.
  • Turquoise Ring change: Gain the Evade ability.
  • Emerald Ring change: Gain +2 Shields on Plains.
  • Sunstone Ring change: In Battle and Perils, +1 Sun result while you have more than 3 Gold.
  • Moonstone Ring change: Gain +1 Magic for any Kill in Battle.
  • Amber Ring change: Burning Sun and Moon Cards in Battle is always considered a Hit.

Quests
  • New Quests lines for all clans.
  • Rot Quests are now included to replace Spirit Stones quest if the player is Corrupted.
  • Quest rumours now have new citizens to introduce new rumours and Quest lines.
  • Plus new surprises for you all to find!

Multiplayer Overhaul
  • The multiplayer lobby and structure has been completely redone and is now a lot more robust.
  • You are now able to join up with a friend in a lobby before queuing for a public game.

Visualisation
  • New and revised Hero Select screen.
    • You can now randomise Hero, Amulet and Ring selection.
    • Preview your Heroes 3D asset.
  • The Options screen have had visual overhauls.
  • Various particles have been added to card play throughout the game.
  • Hero Shelf was given an overall to include more information.
  • The King’s hero sheet now includes Rot.
  • Multiple artists can now be included on Cards.
  • King’s Cards and Palace Perils now appear in the Card Gallery.
  • You are now notified of when you have earned new cards in the main menu, and the Card Gallery has been revamped to show you where your newly unlocked cards are.
  • Game Guide has received an entire overhaul of both assets and layout.
  • Hero Powers have been juiced up for the four original Heroes, including new effects and sounds.
  • Quest type has now been added to Quest markers.
  • If two of the same Clan are in the game:
    • Hero icon appears over Quest marker.
    • Hero name appears as tool tip on Settlements and Hero Shelf.
  • 2D Combat overkill and killing blow has been given some more polish.
  • Screen shake has been implemented for various moments during the game e.g. when the King roars.
  • The Palace Entry confirmation screen has been cleaned up.
  • Beyond 6 cards in the hand, the fan is more constrained.

Animations
  • The King now has new animations including taunt.
  • All heroes now have taunt/boast animations.

Environment Changes
  • All new tile assets for Armello in higher resolution and detail.
  • New Winter tile sets which will randomly appear for the player in both Single and Multiplayer.
  • All clans now have their own unique clan grounds asset.

AI Changes
  • Rings and Amulets changes are now more intelligently made.
  • More intelligently uses the Teleport card (so not to suicide when corrupted).
  • More intelligently assess whether they can achieve a win in a combat.
  • Improved forgiveness factor and will react better to “mutually beneficial” cards played on them.
  • King’s Guards can re-enter palace and should attack any Hero in the Palace that has a Bounty that’s within sight radius.
  • Focus negative card play more intelligently.

  • Controller support has been added for these controllers on the following platforms:

  • Armello is now available to play in 13 different languages:

King’s Declaration
  • Starfall and Public Execution King’s Declaration has been removed.
  • King’s Agents (New): The King's Agents dart and weave across the Kingdom; his Agents of Misfortune sabotage all Perils in the Realm.

Miscellaneous
  • Steam achievements and Trading Cards!
    • 49 Steam Achievements and Trading Cards for all those collectors out there.
  • The game credits have been added!

PlayStation 4
During the last few months we've also been working on our PlayStation 4 build! Woo!

Multi(player) artists can now be included on Cards.

Probably meant multiple.

King’s Declaration
  • Starfall and Public Execution King’s Declaration has been removed.

Why? (IIRC this is when you sacrafice a follower)

I really miss Starfall.
I can understand that they would remove it because of how (often) the spirits stones appear now, but not the other one.
