Feedback & Suggestions / Re: Questing, and the fifth element

I'd very much agree with Hobbes on this one. Unfortunately, I've found little reason to move to quests beyond my fraction of the field, except for early game benefits. I believe Rock, Paper, Shotgun touched on this in their review as well.

General Discussion / Re: How to win by Rot?
« on: January 27, 2015, 04:27:52 PM »
I see lots of ppl are having problems getting Rot win. Just follow these steps:

1- Start with Think amulet. You NEED the extra card.
2- Always select the Rot (skull with thorns) option at quest.
3- Draw as many spells as you can. If you got nothing useful, just on nearest peril/enemy (better if Bane) and burn everything, even if it adds no extra rolls or if you have no remaining dice roll.
4- Burn all Plague spells on self.
5- Purposely trigger all perils you see at swamp and settlements. In special at swamps it has a major chance of being Plague. Also, don't forget to fail at Plague perils.
6- If you get 2 or more Rot than King at dawn, it's time to jump in the palace. Get a Sword, Shield, Sun and Moon cards (Sword and Shield usually come from Items deck, Sun from Spells deck and Moon from Trickery Deck) at draw (not as hard as it sounds) and break in the palace. With this combo, unless someone trolled you, you will beat the palace peril.
7- At night (next turn), draw as many spell cards as you can to buff up and go for it.

The most important thing...don't be afraid of attacking the king. The extra rolls often protect you. Yesterday i got a Rot win as Sana doing just this. Third night...the King wasn't even corrupted still. Bark skin, Mirror Image, Hare Halberd and the extra rolls from Rot were enough to get him down. (of course that as Sana i actually had to burn all my APs on this because the chances of her rolling enough attack to OHKO the King, in special at early turns, is very low).

I'd like to emphasize in Lienn's post here that having solid equipment like the Hare's Halberd is very good idea, though not entirely necessary. Defeating the King is easy, so long as you can take away his dice, or at least have enough to bring the fight to him.  8)

Quick question, and maybe I need to ask 8bitProxy since he's the one who has added a majority of the GIFs, but what settings are they set to, so I can attempt to maintain a standard?

id already bought in and the game is amazing x3   as i said it 'almost' stopped me from buyin in

the main issue is that their handling of whats backer exclusive is just not right, since no matter how i look at it, an entire faction with a bunch of heroes is a good amount of important content.

it just doesnt feel right to lock that kind of stuff away or that much of it, whether i was a backer or not i wouldve much preferred something cosmetic to be a backer reward for this sort of game.
its still special, can look amazing and completely avoids this hot topic and all issues that come with it
Believe me, you're not alone on this front. A lot of us have been in discussion with the devs and each other about potential amicable solutions, but in the end, it won't be decided upon until closer to its release date since that's when they'll be working on the Bandit Clan (outside of their current concept art).

Us members (since I'm trying to avoid using backers/non-backers as terms now...Armellians might even be better  ;) ) and the devs are certainly glad that opinions and suggestions are being voiced, though, so thanks!

And again -seeing as you've already bought in - don't be a stranger!

HOBBES, finally! Welcome to the darkside, mate! (I don't...mean anything by that...really...)

Welcome to the community. I hope I can find a question at some point, but since it's early morning here, it'll have to wait.  ;) The body's up, the brain is not...

i think id have to agree with the first post in this case sorta as i also just discovered this game a couple of days ago.
instantly fell in love with how it looked, the gameplay looked great and i loved having all these animal races.

but then i noticed the bandit clan and i was extremely disappointed but not because of the possibility of p2w. Im not normally one to care too much about in-game kickstarter rewards but these characters looked far more interesting and appealing than our current 4 heroes and the other 4 coming later (with the exception of thane i think hes awesome xP)  i would've paid for the tier on kickstarter in a heartbeat if id known about it!

so its really saddening to see that the content i  wanted the most is forever locked away from me simply because i hadnt heard of the game until now, almost stopped me buying the game entirely  :(
Don't know if you saw the Steam Forums already or not, but this has been a hot topic since it hit Early Access. Backers and non-backers (which I am a non-backer) alike have more than informed the Devs of their concerns, and ultimately that ball is in the KS Backers' court. However, that decision won't really be looked at until it comes time for the Bandit Clan to be worked on - since the devs are more focused on the base game at the moment.

So, it basically runs down to your level of interest, if you want to buy in, go ahead, if you'd rather wait, definitely leave it on your wishlist, as this game is absolutely beautiful, even in its early stage.

I wish you best of luck in that choice, and if you do decide to join us, don't be a stranger! ^_^

General Discussion / Re: The Ultimate Armello FAQ
« on: January 26, 2015, 02:55:21 AM »

First sorry for my bad English :(
In my last party, We were two players with 3 prestige"s point at the end (the others have 1 and 0). So, it was a draw. But it is the other player who win the game...
The result is about another statistic or is it only random choose ?

Thanks for your responses ! :)

Not sure if this is the right answer, but I've noted that whomever is the Prestige Leader first, remains the Prestige Leader, so whomever had 3 prestige points first was the one who won. Again...Don't quote me on that.

Off-Topic / Re: Personal Works

I am a hobbist writer, start from fanfic and now moving to original fiction.

Right now I am also writing a pure text-based game, using ChoiceScript, about becoming overlord called 'Dark Lord'

Which made me wanted to ask, what kind of overlord would you like to play as?

I'm not gonna lie, I thought it said hobbit writer;D

I would like to think that a fun one to play as would be one with somewhat positive motives (like getting a family member back, or what have you), that he achieves through less than 'good' means. They're a lot more three-dimensional characters in my opinion. Of course, once his conquest is through, he would just hold the portions he has conquered because...well, why not? Wouldn't be an over lord then, now would he?  ;)

Bugs! / Re: [PC] overlapping words in game log (Status Feed)
« on: January 25, 2015, 11:27:17 AM »
It has happened to me quite often, it seems to happen when an action and an event happen at the same time. On occasion, too, the text will be too big for the Status Feed, and you can't read the whole statement.

Welcome to the forums! Can i call you Red? It is so much simpler then Hello TheRedRaccoon :)

Its good to see you havent been discouraged thanks a tonne for sticking with it, Armello certainly has a lot to offer! And that art style! What do you think!?
Yeah, various other groups call me Red  ;)

I am absolutely in love with this project, especially its aesthetics. The music and art are beautiful! I've thus far enjoyed the game, however, not to bring the fight home (for those of you aware of the Steam situation), I am rather perturbed by this situation, and moreso now because it is causing a large divide between backers, EA buyers, and anyone else who decides to get in on full release.  :(

I doubt that an amicable solution will happen, but I do hope some resolution can be met. It's a rather odd and unfortunate series of events.

BUT, that's not why I'm here. SO, to move back into lighter territory, I intend to continue to play so I can get better at this, and maybe play some of you online!  ;D

Y'all can friend me at [AoF] TheRedRaccoon

Introduce Yourself! / Hello ^_^

Not sure how many people really are here anymore, but thought I'd hop in and give my two cents!  ;)

Hello! I'm TheRedRaccoon, a man with like 6000+ hobbies, some of which are writing, filming, drawing,, playing games, making games, watching games, playing games a second time, and on occasion releasing any material related to previous stated hobbies.  ;D

I recently found Armello through a fellow twitch streamer, investigated the Steam page, added it to my wishlist with intent to buy it today, got discouraged by the whole Bandit situation, tried to (sorta) defuse the Bandit situation, left the Bandit situation, and then came here to the forums...

It was quite the adventure.

Anywho, I still intend to buy the game later today - after all, I'm highly impressed with the interactivity of the Devs! - and would love to help the community/wiki, in anyway I can.  ;)

Happy gaming~! ^_^
