Greetings!


You may have noticed an update is available! It just contains a few little fixes here and there, here are the details!


Bug Fixes
  • 3D item previews now correctly appear in Skeeve's Store on OSX
  • Hare's Halberd no longer visualises twice in combat
  • Fixed a rare NMA that would occur when transmogrifying items
  • Fixed odd outcomes that could occur in the prologue due to the implementation of King's Guards Armour
  • King Roar volume turned down
Known Issues
  • Inactive effects may be visible on the Status Effects bar
  • Burndown timer sound may continue to play for a whole game
  • Signet and Amulet names may appear incorrectly when the Hero Shelf is opened for the first time in a game

Hi there!

A huge fix just went live for a number of visual issues that popped up in v1.8. Check out the full list of things here!

Bug Fixes
  • Fixed a visual glitch when opening the last Chest of a particular type.
  • Horace’s Black Company skin can now correctly be selected.
  • Chainmail Shirt and King’s Guard Armour now correctly work against the King.
  • The 'Find Game' button is no longer active when the Multiplayer lobby is full.
  • Hero Shelf on the the End Screen now correctly showing Inventory items.
  • Text size has now been corrected on the Hero Shelf.
  • Pixel lines have now been removed on Pause Screen, Game Guide and various other places.
  • When Arson is played on a tile Ghor occupies, he will no longer stay in Tree form for the rest of the game.
  • The Rot tutorial can no longer be skipped in Sana's prologue.
  • Particles now don't clip across an invisible seam on the Combat Screen.
  • Two King’s Guards can no longer spawn on one tile.
  • Chat Icon no longer cut off in certain resolutions.
  • Multiplayer Game prompt dialogue now appears correctly in Singleplayer.
  • Changing languages in-game now resolves smoothly.
  • Fixed an issue with palace transparency and tiltshift.
  • Skeeve Store tabs text is correctly localised.
  • Fog levels reduced.
Known Issues
  • (Mac) 3D previews not showing in Skeeve’s store and Steam Inventory.
  • Kings Guards may break during Prologue.
  • Hare's Halberd visualises twice in combat.
  • King roars a little too loud.
There you have it! Another red hot hotfix out the door. The next one is probably just around the corner!

Greetings all!
 
It’s a glorious day, as v1.8 Shattered Kingdom has emerged in Armello! Jump in RIGHT NOW! What are you waiting for?!

If you’re the type of human that wants all of the details, please feel free to check the full patch notes here. Along with the primary features that you can peruse below, we’ve done a lot of audio work and just generally tightened screws all over the place. We really hope you dig it.


 
The King has received some serious pampering with all of the trimmings like tantalising animations, delicious audio and sweet, sweet particle effects.
 
  • New Animations and Treatment for Endgame Victory Sequences: Spirit Stone, Rot and Prestige.
  • New Dusk and Dawn animations.
  • Updated animations and textures that demonstrate the King's degeneration in-game
  • Updated Combat Defence animation

 

 
Here we have some new cards! King’s Guard Armour favours characters with larger dice stacks and assists heroes in taking control of their fate, allowing a more reliable spread of useful rolls.
 
If you’re wondering, yes, like the Hare's Halberd all King’s Guards have this item equipped, and it will exist in the deck. This is an overall buff for King’s Guards, improving their defenses and further fortifying their role as blockers on the map.



 
Reaper’s Trident is a powerful Treasure that leverages Poison Dice in a big way. Pair this with other items that lock in Swords to cause the Poison Dice to resolve later, hopefully bypassing your opponent's shields.
 
 
 

 
Fury Mode is a fast paced, intense version of Armello available in House Rules. It’s less about carefully analysing the board for the most optimal play, and more about following your gut and taking action.
 
 
And a Few Extras...
 
As mentioned earlier, you’ll definitely note some audio love has been put into this update. Additionally, we have a fun little thing that some of you might like to play around with, you can now customise your “Classic Dice”. This will only work for your client and won’t be visible for your opponents.

Within the launch options for Armello in Steam, add the following lines to link to your own Dice textures and normal maps. Image file types that are accepted are PNG and JPEG. You can find some resources attached to this thread on our own forums.

As of v1.8 Shattered Kingdom, we've implemented have a fun little thing that some of you might like to play around with, you can now customise your “Classic Dice”. This will only work for your client and won’t be visible for your opponents.

Within the launch options for Armello in Steam, add the following lines to link to your own Dice textures and normal maps. Image file types that are accepted are PNG and JPEG. You can find the available resources attached below!

Welcome to the second feature reveal for Armello’s grand new update, v1.8 Shattered Kingdom. Two new cards are coming in this update, and their presence will be undeniably noticed.




King’s Guard Armour favours characters with larger dice stacks and assists heroes in taking control of their fate, allowing a more reliable spread of useful rolls.

If you’re wondering, yes, like the Hare's Halberd all King’s Guards have this item equipped, and it will exist in the deck. This is an overall buff for King’s Guards, improving their defenses and further fortifying their role as blockers on the map.

Outlaws and the wanted beware, King’s Guards are no joke on the battlefield.



Reaper’s Trident is a powerful Treasure that leverages Poison Dice in a big way. Pair this with other items that lock in Swords to cause the Poison Dice to resolve later, hopefully bypassing your opponent's shields.
 
You can also take advantage of the Rot gain to give you a leg up in your pursuit for Corruption, if you dare.

Howdy folks!

Welcome to the first feature reveal for Armello’s upcoming content update, v1.8 Shattered Kingdom. The King’s presence grows. This will likely be the most noticeable feature of the update, and dramatically improves the atmosphere within Armello.

Hi all,

Here are the full build notes for v1.8  Shattered Kingdom fresh and ready for y'all to play!

Features and Changes
 
New Cards
  • Reaper’s Trident (Treasure): In Battle, -2 Dice and gain 3 Poison Swords.
  • King’s Guard Armour (Item): In Battle, First two rolled Sun or Moon that misses are considered a Defence.

Card Changes
  • Hare’s Halberd (Item): New effect In Battle, +1 Die and opponents suffer -1 Die.
  • Chainmail Shirt (Item): New effect In Battle, +1 Shield, and first rolled miss, instead Reflects.
  • Armistice (Trickery): New effect (Play on) Hero (Not Self); If either Hero attacks the other, they'll be named a Traitor.
  • Spy Glass (Item): Gain Scout on all your perils.
  • Saboteur (Trickery): (Play on) Hero, King's Guard, Settlement; Target's Dice will not Explode, until the end of target's next turn.
  • Sailor’s Lantern (Item): Reduced cost from 2 Gold to 1 Gold.
  • Palace Perils: Effect reword to Hero is forced to retreat.

King Presence
  • New Animations and treatment for End Game Victory Sequences: Spirit Stone, Rot and Prestige. This includes unique audio and particle effects.
  • New Dusk and Dawn animations.
  • Updated animations and textures that demonstrate the King's degeneration in-game .
  • Updated Combat Defence animation

Fury Mode
  • New House Rule under “Turn Timers” for those who want a higher pressure Armello experience. These changes include:
    • All players turns locked to 15 seconds (down from 60 seconds)
    • Turn Timer pauses in Combat and Perils.
    • Burndown Timer in Combat and Perils reduced to 10 seconds (down from 15 seconds).
    • Card Draw Timer should be 3 seconds for each card, minimum 5 seconds (from global of 20 seconds).
    • Add 2 seconds to Timer when moving (Action Points).
    • Add 10 seconds to global timer for Questing and Hidden Encounters instead of separate 60-80 second timer.
    • Palace Entry / Highway Fees etc confirmation should not pause the Timer.
    • Whenever time is added a “+X secs” will appear next to the timer.
    • 10 second Timer for the King’s Declarations (down from 45 seconds).
    • Timers on screen at all times.
    • Audio SFX added to support timers.

Audio Changes
  • Skeeve’s store now has it’s own theme song.
  • Tuned the ambient audio, made all aspects more even, including zooming.
  • Tuned all Tile audio to be more consistent.
  • Tuned all character SFK levels to give the character more unity throughout the game.
  • Made sure all stings are consistent in level.
  • Made the UI sounds more subtle, gave them some sophistication.
  • Added ominous tone to background of King voice over.
  • Augmented Burn-Down sound and made it increase in tension as it burns down.
  • Improved End Turn sound to make it feel more a part of the UI.
  • Updated Card Burn sound.
  • Updated Lightning event to have more clarity and focus and excitement.
  • Gave Settlement capture a sound design augmentation that better matches the action.
  • Peril sound now has a little more body.

Games Analytics
  • We’ve implemented various game analytics, an EULA update will also appear on Steam and our other various platforms.

Gameplay Changes
  • Removed the short delay after when a Bane spawns on their turn.
  • Peril Crossbones now appear on all buffed Perils, not just from Cursed Lands.
  • Bane to play Taunt and Screech before fleeing from Spirit Walkers

UI Changes
  • You can now select AI’s hero skins and Dice skins within the “Select AI Heroes”.
  • Language Options now in the game menu.
  • Added Tabs to Skeeve’s store for easier navigation.
  • Added tooltips to Player Badges in the multiplayer lobby.
  • Ribbon appears over Heroes that are unplayed yet.
  • Settlement owner now reads “Claimed by <hero_name>”.

Command Line Dice
  • Allows users to upload and use their own created dice in Singleplayer Armello.
  • Uses the Steam command line, pointing to a file path to upload a dice created by the user.
  • Can upload a texture and a normal map.
  • Image file types accepted: PNG, JPEG.

Bug Fixes
  • Fixed NMA when an AI Barnaby hero equips an Item.
  • Fixed NMA when AI Barnaby is taking over a human player.
  • Optimised various particles that would result in gradual loss of frame rate.
  • Fixed rare occasion when two DLC heroes could be played in-game.
  • Fixed Palace Perils tool tip.
  • Fixed tween order of Quest denizen and their speech bubble.

Known Issues
  • [Mac] 3D previews not showing in Skeeve’s store and Steam Inventory.
  • Visual glitch when opening the last of a Chest of a particular type.
  • Horace’s Black Company skin cannot be selected.
  • Chainmail Shirt’s & King's Guard Armour reflect doesn’t work correctly against the King.
  • Find Game is able to be selected by all players in a 4 player party (this will currently kick the player from the party).
  • Hero Shelf on the the End Screen not showing Inventory items.
  • Large text on the Hero Shelf.
  • Pixel line asset on Pause Screen, Game Guide and various other places.
  • When Arson is played on a tile Ghor occupies, he’ll stay in Tree form for the rest of the game.
  • The Sana prologue can skip the Rot tutorial.
  • Combat Screen has visual glitches.
  • 2 King’s Guards can spawn on one tile.
  • Chat Icon is sometimes cut off in certain resolutions.
  • Graphical issue with accepting a Multiplayer Game from Singleplayer.
  • When changing languages in-game there can be some text that goes blocky.
  • Transparency issue with Fog/Castle/Tilt Shift.
  • Skeeve store tabs text hasn’t been localisted.

Hey community!

Here's the third hotfix for v1.7.1 with a couple of important fixes. Eternal thanks to those who submit bug reports, you are a cool breeze on a hot summer's day.

Bug Fixes
  • Arson can no longer be played to a tile that contains the turn taker.
  • Buying bundles of items from the Steam store will now correctly display the count in-game.
  • Fixed a rare NMA that could occur during quest selection.

Known Issues
  • Barnaby's AI may break in Multiplayer games, causing an NMA.

Heyo Armellians,

Here's another hotfix to set you up for the weekend.

Bug Fixes
  • Fixed an NMA that could occasionally occur when the Stranger was recruited by a Hero.

Known Issues
  • Purchasing chest and key bundles through Steam is having an issue going from cart to purchase, we're looking into this.

Hey all!

Short and sweet this time, here are the patch notes for v1.7.1!

Features
  • Armello's fourth dice collection has arrived! Druid Chests and Druid Keys will now drop from Public Multiplayer games.
  • The previous Trick Chests and Trick Keys will no longer drop.
  • Hero Skin Fragments have been introduced to Druid's Bequest. Transmogrify five of the same fragments to forge a random hero from the relevant clan.
  • You are now able to bulk buy chests and keys in x5 and x20 stacks.
  • We've added an emblem to heroes you're yet to complete a game with.

Fixes:
  • Fixed an issue where Mercurio's prologue would get stuck on equipping the adventurers kit
  • Fixed a rare NMA when players selected a quest during player turn transition
Known Issues
  • Purchasing bundles of chests/keys in Skeeve's store may not function correctly in-game, but will work through Steam UI.

Armello Development / Introducing Hero Skin Fragments

Greetings all,

As you may know, Armello's new collection, Druid's Bequest, will be unearthed on the 24th of May. We're pretty excited, because this new collection holds something a little special!

Within Druid Chests, you will not only find a beautiful new array of dice, but you will also find Hero Skin Fragments.



There are four different types of Hero Skin Fragments, one for each of the Great Clans of Armello. Transmogrifying five fragments of the same type (i.e., five Wolf Clan Hero Skin Fragments) will forge a Hero Skin for a random Hero of that clan. Naturally, the fragments and the skins they produce, like everything that comes out of chests, will be fully 'tradable' and 'marketable'.

We've provided a mini FAQ below, but let us know if you have any further questions surrounding fragments, and feel free to discuss below!

Are there Hero skin fragments for The Bandit Clan?

The Bandit Clan do not have Hero Skin Fragments, but I'm sure that rag-tag crew will make do with their current threads.

Will the drop rates of Dice be affected?

Obviously, with the addition of new items, the rate at which particular items drop from chests has to shift. As you know, we never share exact drop rates, but the TL;DR is that you'll simply see fewer Common and Uncommon dice, to make room for the four different Hero Skin Fragments.

You'll be happy to hear the drop rates for the rarest dice will remain largely untouched.

What are my chances of getting a Hero Skin Frament from a Chest?

We don't discuss the specifics of drop rates, buuuuut Hero Skins were designed to be ultra rare, so you can assume the rates for the Hero Skin Fragments will be set up to support that.

Aka; They won't come quickly.

But I just bought a Hero Skin!

Thank you! Purchasing Hero Skins are still the primary method to obtain what you want, when you want. This fragment system is intended to reward dedicated players with a diverse and valuable range of items. Remember, there is no guarantee you'll Transmogrify the particular skin you're hunting for.

Good day Armellians!

Here are some notes relevant to a fix that actually went live yesterday. Hope you all had a wild, relaxing weekend.

Bug Fixes
  • Fixed several NMA cases that occurred when a player disconnects from a multiplayer game at inopportune times
  • Fixed a rare NMA that could occur during the Kings Declaration phase
  • Fixed an NMA caused by the King's Declaration 'Ripped Reality'
  • Fixed an issue where the Prestige order could be incorrect
Known Issues
  • Mercurio's episode of the Prologue cannot be completed, and will end in an NMA.

Hold tight for more news, especially surrounding the new collection that drops in the next few days.

  • Fixed a crash that would occur at high memory usage moments.
  • Reduced quality on some post effects and shadows
  • Improved logging surrounding errors
