Armello Development / The March Update is live on Steam!

Hello friends!

Are you ready, because the time has arrived. The March Update is live and you can jump in right now! Oh and if you missed it, a couple of pretty cool things happened this week Armello-wise. Armello is now available in official, physical, boxed form in stores around the world AND is available on iOS worldwide.
Check it out!

I'm going to run through all of the primary features to sink your teeth into. If you're the type of person who prefers to cut to the chase and look through the patch notes, here you go.

You can get this for free by simply visiting Skeeve's Shop, he will be happy to hand it over free of charge. All of the details can be found here.

The Rites of Ruin collection has cycled out and the Skeeve's Curiosities collection has cycled in! Remember that keys are a thing of the past, so simply open these Chests up in your inventory as soon as they drop!

We've overhauled how loot works in Armello. That coin flip, along with Keys are a thing of the past. In addition to this we've implemented free daily Chests, a daily drop counter AND improved Chest transparency.

I'm going to keep it brief, here are the patch notes for the March Update.

Features and Changes

New Amulets
  • Harmonise - When on 0 Rot, in battles all rot cards in your hand change to Sun symbols.
    Unlock Criteria: Complete a Spirit Stone Victory with a Hero from 4 unique Clans.
  • Decay - Heal 2 Health for each Rot gained, and lose 1 Health for each Rot lost.
    Unlock Criteria: Complete a Rot Victory with a Hero from 4 unique Clans.
  • The Far Seeker Novella is now available for free from Skeeve's Shop. Check in with him and pick it up!
Loot Redux
  • For new Collections, keys will no longer drop.
  • For new Collections, chests can be opened by themselves without any additional items.
  • Chests are now attainable through Private AND Public Multiplayer games from now on.
  • After Multiplayer Games, you will be granted a Chest up to your daily drop counter.
  • Daily Drop counter added to multiplayer lobby, along with a timer for when this resets.
  • Dice drop rates within the relevant Chest are now visible in Skeeve's Shop.
New Collection
  • The Skeeve's Curiosities Dice Collection has been implemented and Curious Chests are now dropping!
  • The Rites of Ruin Collection has been cycled out and can no longer be attained through in-game play.
Hero Starting Gold Adjustments
  • Hargrave - Starting Gold up to 7 (from 6)
  • Ghor - Starting Gold up to 4 (from 2)
  • Yordana - Starting Gold up to 4 (from 2)
  • Griotte - Starting Gold up to 7 (from 6)
  • Twiss - Starting Gold down to 2 (from 5)
  • Horace - Starting Gold down to 3 (from 4)

Bug Fixes
  • Fixed a bug that stopped cards from being dragged around when Inventory was open.
  • River's Bow now has the correct texture
  • The Intimidate Amulet functions again!
  • Fixed an issue where combats could come to a freeze if a player was under the effect of Curse of Valour
  • Fixed an issue with the coin flip texture, before promptly removing it from the game
  • Mirror Cape once again copies all relevant item effects

Armello Development / The Road to 2.0 - February Feature Reveal, New Cards.

Howdy friends!

The Road to 2.0 begins with a big ol' content update on Wednesday the 14th, which is just a few days from now. We're going to start you off with a classic Armello addition with a twist, new cards.

This time around, we're giving the Trickery Deck a little bit of love with two new cards that feature a new card mechanic in Armello, the Merchant system.

After either of these cards are played a sign will appear on the targeted settlement, indicating that a Merchant will become active on the following turn. When the Merchant arrives, every player that enters the settlement during that turn is able to gain the benefits of the card.

Roxy has you covered for Followers, and Biff has all the Treasures you need. Naturally, these cards benefits all players that manage to visit the targeted settlement - so take advantage of ill-positioned opponents, defend this valuable settlement or even terrorize it to dismiss the merchant early.

Armello Development / The Road to 2.0

Greetings dearest Armellians,

Today is a monumental day for Armello and it’s time to revel and celebrate. Armello version 2.0 is coming, and will land later this year. They say that the journey is more important than the destination, but considering what we’ve got up our sleeve, it’s all gonna be pretty damn special.

Along The Road to 2.0, we will be providing content updates monthly! The February update will be the first and is landing this week, Wednesday the 14th of February. Specifics of the February update will be revealed over the coming days and are bound to set an exciting tone for our adventure ahead.

Each update on The Road will primarily focus on additional content, juicy gameplay hooks and lore expansion. In essence, they are a tribute to v2.0, contributing to our overarching goals for where we want Armello to be at the end of the year. Behind the scenes, we’ll be plugging away at larger, far-reaching, systemic changes to Armello. The end of the Road will culminate in the arrival of v2.0 itself and with it, these major features and improvements.

What are these larger features, you ask? Well, well, well, you’ll just have to load up your caravan and join us on this journey to find out.

Hi there,

The Rivals beta event is now over, so the Rivals have retreated from Armello. Hope you all had a great time trying out the new heroes. Massive thank you to everyone that submitted bug reports. Reminder that the Rivals hero pack will go live on the 20th of December so let that hype brew.

Here are a bunch of fixes that we managed to implement in direct result from the bug reports we recieved.

Bug Fixes
  • Cat's Eye (Rat Ring): Now correctly deducts the Trickery discount.
  • Fixed Griotte's animation in Clan Grounds if she dies at night with her Hero Power active.
  • Fixed Hargrave's hero power activating if he's turn is forced to end.
  • Fixed the AI combat NMA in Sana & Amber's prologue.
  • Fixed a bug in the hero select screen that if you're on Random and your turn times out.
Known Issues
  • Mirror Cape is behaving incorrectly on some occasions.
  • Multiplayer banners may not appear in lobbies correctly.
  • Curse of Eye Yordana pact does not visually break correctly on combat. (gameplay effect ends, but pact visuals remain until either player dies)

Hey folks,

Here are the patch notes for v1.9.3 and along with it, the Rivals Beta event is live until 13th of December, 3:00pm (PT). We'll do a seperate announcement about the beta event in just a moment so head there for all of the details for that.

Please be mindful that with larger changes, like new heroes for example, comes a certain amount of chaos. Be sure to submit bug reports if you encounter any weirdness, and please share your feedback about the new bits and pieces!

New Heroes (Live December 20th)
The four new heroes will be playable by anyone that owns Armello on Steam during the Rivals Beta event, starting now and finishing on the 13th of December, 3:00pm (Pacific Time).
  • Fang (Wolf Clan) Hero Power: When attacking, if Fang Slaughters his opponent, Battle ends before they strike back.
  • Hargrave (Rabbit Clan) Hero Power: After ending his turn on a Plains, Hargrave will fire his cannon at any creature entering an adjacent tile.
  • Yordana (Bear Clan) Hero Power: Spells cast to Yordana during her turn are devoured in her cauldron for -1 Magic, granting a Curse Spell at the end of her turn.
  • Griotte (Rat Clan) Hero Power: Griotte's Clan Affinity Dice Bonus is equal to the number of Trickery Cards played the previous Day.
New Ring & Amulets (Live December 20th)
  • Intimidate (Amulet): End your turn next to a creature, they suffer -1 Dice until the end of their next turn.
  • Cat's Eye (Rat Ring): Get a 1 Gold refund on First Trickery Card played each Turn.
  • Spinel (Rabbit Ring): Get a 10% bonus in all Quest Tests.
  • Chrysocolla (Wolf Ring): Grants scout on heroes with 2 Health or less
  • Taaffeite (Bear Ring): +1 Shield in Forests.
Card changes
  • Bane Blade (Treasure): Effect is now "In Battle, +4 Dice. After each Battle where you don't kill your opponent, -1 Health."
  • Blood Money (Trickery): Increased frequency in deck.
  • Expendables (Trickery): Increased frequency in deck.
  • Incite Revolt (Trickery): Increased frequency in deck.
  • Arson (Trickery): Cost decreased from 3 Prestige to 2.
  • Ranger's Cloak (Item): Cost decreased from 2 to 1.
Bug Fixes
  • Fixed rare bug where the End Turn button would remain on screen (multiplayer only).
  • Fixed bug where you couldn't customise AI dice skins in singleplayer.
  • Fixed bug where Fast Forward animation would not appear on icon when using the direct right thumbstick push on controllers.
  • Continue button would overlap prologue chat when a controller is plugged in.
  • Fixed bug where turn timer layered over the hero portrait.
  • Fixed bug where previewing Quest rewards with controller would cause overlapping.
Known Issues
  • Amber & Sana's Prologue will NMA if you enter battle with AI.
  • Cat's Eye doesn't correctly take Gold.
  • Griotte will revert to fanning animation in Clan Grounds if she dies at night with her Hero Power active.
  • Hargrave hunkers down when his turn is forced to end.
  • AFK timer may not kick AFK players correctly.
  • Multiplayer banners may not appear in lobbies correctly.
  • EDIT: Curse of Eye Yordana pact does not visually break correctly on combat. (gameplay effect ends, but pact visuals remain until either player dies)

Hello again everyone,

We did a 2mb update earlier but then we had to do another that was a little bigger as a Mac bug slipped into the mix. This one was a little bigger but still not as massive as the other big boi.

Bug Fixes
  • Fixed an indefinite load issue for Mac users.

Hi there friends,

Fancy seeing you here. We have a quick and EXTRA SMALL patch for you here today. We've been investigating our patch size and we managed to get this one down to about 2mbs. They might not all be this small but rest assured it's on our radar. Thank you for your feedback, hopefully that's a little more convenient.

Bug Fixes
  • Fixed certain causes of an NMA caused by players with a weak network connection at the start of turns.
No poem today because I don't want to set a precedent that it'll happen every time. Take care and call your family to say hi, ok.

I know, I know, it's another patch. I think this one was a little smaller and in payment for making you download more bits and pieces, have these vital bug fixes and a SPECIAL BONUS POEM at the end.

Bug Fixes
  • Investigating the change in patch sizes, we're looking into a few reasons why we think there may have been changes.
  • Fixed the missing AFK warning icon text string.
  • Fixed an issue where Steam players names would be missing from the game.
  • Fixed an issue when hitting "Back" after opening a Chest from the Inventory screen.
Known Issues
  • Rare NMA on AFK player only when trying to disconnect from game.

Howdy all!

We have some brief but VERY exciting news that actually was revealed yesterday by our partners in this venture, Soedesco! Armello is getting an official, boxed physical edition for PC, Xbox One and PS4 will be landing in stores across the world on March 18th 2018.

The Special Edition will include the base game of Armello, along with the Soundtrack disc. Availability and pricing is up to the region and the particular retailer, so keep an eye on your favourite stores leading up to the date.

We're pumped about it and I hope you are too.

What's up everyone?!

A hot little update nugget just landed in the sauce that is Steam, and it's ready to be eaten up... I don't know. Just take the fixes alright.

Bug Fixes
  • Fixed NMA at the start of the game caused by the King VO slider.
  • Fixed AFK notification remaining throughout whole games
  • Fixed missing AFK tool tip

Known Issues
  • Rare NMA on AFK player only when trying to disconnect from game.
  • Playing offline makes the Inventory inaccessible.

Greetings folks!

Here's a neat little hotfix for you and a few known issues. Thanks for the bug reports, they are fuel for our dev engines.

Bug Fixes
  • Fixed visualisation bug of Hero Skins.
  • Fixed a bug where AI can select unowned DLC items, so continue games won't progress.
  • Fixed a rare NMA when burning cards as the burndown timer finishes.
  • Fixed the incorrect visualisation of the Ring/Amulet progression at the end of game.
  • Fixed artist signature tool tip missing in the Card Gallery.
  • Fixed an issue with changing in and out of the Guppy card skin.
  • Fixed a missing string in the Japanese victory/defeat screen.
  • Fixed visual glitch with the background of the Player Shield in the Multiplayer Lobby.
Known Issues
  • The coin flip animation is missing from multiplayer end-game, it is still doing the randomisation, but visualisation is missing.
  • AFK tool tip is present throughout some Multiplayer games regarless of AFK status. 
  • Playing offline makes the Inventory inaccessible.

Hey there folks!

Hope you've all wrapped your mitts around at least a few rare dice by now! Thank you all for your bug submissions and your patience with the release of this update.

Bug Fixes
  • Restored the Card Gallery, Prologue and Settings to what they were pre-v1.9.1. Any cards, prologue or settings changes made since the launch of v1.9.1 will be lost but all your previous progress will now be restored. Sincere apologies for the inconvenience. <3
  • Fixed an NMA that occurred when submitting a Bug Sender without an email address.
  • Fixed a rare NMA triggered by a poorly timed Bane death.
  • Fixed a rare NMA playing a Peril at the time as the King playing perils.
  • Potential or partial fix for the missing Chest asset on the Coin Flip. (The fabled magenta blob)
Known Issues
  • Issue where the King’s jaw flaps open too much when talking.

How are you all doing? We've got a few more fixes that have just gone live AND we'll have some exciting announcements coming in the next few weeks  so stay tuned.

If you have been submitting bug reports, you're a beautiful, elegant person and we love you.

Bug Fixes
  • Fixed disconnect NMA when next turn taker was recently disconnected.
  • Fixed NMA when someone disconnects during a combat. The dice would appear to roll forever.

Known Issues
  • If you play a singleplayer game in Dutch and go to continue the saved game; it can NMA. If you switch to English this will resolve the issue after restarting Armello.
  • The volume of some sounds isn't being modified by the volume sliders, such as the Rot Vines growing from the Palace.
  • If you have a saved Singleplayer game that saved when the King's health was 0, continuing it will result in an NMA. If you clear the save game by starting a new Singleplayer, Armello will resolve.

Bug Fixes
  • Fixed a Combat NMA where a player clicks "Enter Palace" just before the timer runs out and there is a King's Guard on the palace tile. There was also a rare chance of it happening on a vacant Palace tile.
  • Fixed a very rare NMA involving Malice Rising.
  • Fixed a very rare NMA involving the Stranger.

Known Issues
  • If you play a singleplayer game in Dutch and go to continue the saved game; it can NMA. If you switch to English this will resolve the issue after restarting Armello.
  • The volume of some sounds isn't being modified by the volume sliders, such as the Rot Vines growing from the Palace.
