Feedback & Suggestions / Re: Thought for more clans

Something like Outcast. Outcast clan are species that don't really fit in.
A Landshark,a Buttmonkey, a Penguin and a Chihuahua.

Wow, that looks like a lot better lighting. What did you do to achieve that?

I'll pm you the normal map. For the texture, I did cheat a bit.  Use the symbol from the normal map, so you can make the shading much clearer. Make a copy of the symbol layer, fill in white for all symbol, blur it, increase  a bit in size, place it below the current symbol layer, change alpha to your taste.

I'd assume that you want it to be like this. Again, I'm not sure how would you like it, so here's my best shot

Here's one I've been working on. I can't get the lighting right, but it looks like I'm not the only one with that issue. If anyone knows any tips, I'd love to hear them!

By the way, Sir Raynor, your dice sets are gorgeous! I'd love to try my hand with the gold borders of the royal-looking one. The pixelated one is super creative too!

Edit: made minor fixes in the knot design.

the lighting s determined by the normal map I believe. Also, I'm not sure how you want to  have the reflection on your dice, nor your current normal map, so I can't really give a  good advice for now

Here's my die skin I've been working on. I can't figure out how to fix the weird lightning. Only my die skin shows that. I'm not super skilled in normal map editing, but I know some. If anyone has any tips, please share!

Edited the image to updated photos.  I  made minor fixes in the knot design.

Mind showing us  your normal map?

Hello! Are there any good suggestions for making the dice not so ... shiny, I guess? The lighting is completely off and sometimes actually appears backwards (light coming from shadowy side, and vice versa). Otherwise, the whole idea of allowing custom dice is amazing and works really well! I'll be sharing some screenshots soon!

It depends on the normal map. Experiment for yourself

Okay. So, I'm kinda new here, but I like the old forum scene. So, here I am

Main: Horace and Sargon
Playstyle: Manipulative

IRL details: a grad school student.  Working on my first personal game project. Good with game-related stuff (coding not included). Currently live in Taiwan, but not able to speak Chinese.

I guess that should be enough about me

Greyscale is more like a height map. But you can generate a normal map from it as well. I normally make a copy of the original texture, increase contrast, brightness and reduce saturation, so the generated normal map can be more detailed. I like sharp edges btw

The dev provided a dice ingame model, so you can try using blender to have some preview. It s better than to open and close the game again and again.

My normal map btw

I couldn't get them working. Path was correct, but adding them into the steam launcher didn't seem to work. Should they have a comma or a space between them?

okay. Assume that the file name is 1.jpg and 2.jpg, then it is
-diceTexture "path\1.jpg" -diceNormal "path\2.jpg"

I found out why my skins did not works.

Game installed path and skin path should on same drive.

ex] if Armello is on C drive, skins should on C drive. if game is on D drive, skin also should located on D drive.
Interesting.... I'll keep that in mind

Oh wow! Great job, the Pixel Dice are gorgeous!! Were that on the Steam Marketplace, I would entirely upvote that for inclusion in the next set!!! O_O

It looks nice up close. The ingame model is still a bit weird. I'm working on that for now

So....yeah. We got the custom dice modification stuff. It would be awesome if LOG can implement a workshop system for armello, and more option for customization (transparency, model editing, light, etc...) The best would be choosing most voted dice skin to be put on the game's shop and market..

That aside, my skins so far. Still messing with the 2 maps for now. If you like any of those, send me a pm and I'll give you a variation for it. (I keep the original :3 ). Any design suggestion would be nice as well ;)
