I'm very lucky to have won the first miniature giveaway! Wishing everyone the best of luck in winning the remaining.  :)

Has anyone tested the interaction of Royal Banner and Prestige cost cards? I thought with any Prestige boosting items, your prestige can never drop below the level granted by the amulet/card.

Does that mean you can freely cast these prestige-cost cards?

Will Stone Wards protect against Malice Rising?

I welcome the improvements to trickery. The Spell Deck offers so many options right now to hinder your opponents with a free resource gain every other turn (Night). Trickery is expensive, you have to protect settlements or risk dungeons for gold.  Improving Trickery's pay-off with these cards gives greater incentive to draw out of the Trickery Deck vs. the Spell Deck.

Bugs! / Two Thanes - Amber Turned into Thane
« on: February 26, 2017, 04:18:29 PM »
I was watching a streamer play some drunk Armello. When the Amber DCed and left, she was replaced by a Thane. And there ended up being two Thanes on the board a the same time.

I have a clip of the Thane fighting the other Thane and killing the Thane:

Nevermind the Dr. Horrible singing in the background~

Will there be new achievements to earn with Usurpers?
For anyone who's interested, Trent responded that there wouldn't be new achievements. I'm sure Usurpers will be great none-the-less.  :D

I caught a cold, so I thought I would binge play Armello and get better with Zosha. After two fun-filled days, I finally have this achievement:

If anyone wants to follow my epic Zosha journey, I'd be happy to share the 132 MB of worth of logs.  :P

I noticed on the Global Achievement list, it still shows 0%, but in my showcase, it shows 0.04% obtainment rate. We happy few. I hope many more will join us soon!

Palisade Walls: Ha! take that Mecrundy!

Gonna love seeing how this shakes things up! :D

Thanks for staying rad LoG! :)

I'm more concerned Ratcrundy will use his deep pockets to fortify all his towns giving him protected trickery cost reduction. It'll depend on how many of these cards are in the deck.

Build Number:
I joined a Multiplayer Lobby and clicked Ready as soon as  the button appearea Ready.
Repro Steps:
I'm not sure if this is easily reproducible, however, I did click "Ready" very fast because I was eager to play. That might have something to do with it.
I join the Multiplayer Lobby at: 9:00:05, Line 2480 in the LoGs. I've also included a screenshot of what it looks like. Sorry for leaving the lobby my fellow players, I had no choice!

I noticed that there's no mention of where to find the log files LoG valuies for logging these bugs. You can find it here:

The good thing is, you can only burn 1 card per "Fight" dice you have out. Seeing as Zosha only has 7 there, the worst she can do to you is burn 7 Wylds... So at least 7 damage plus whatever the dice explode... yeah, than could be pretty bad.  :o

Oddly enough, this isn't reproducible. I exited the game and reloaded my save. The 2nd time entering the palace was okay.

Here's is a pastebin of the log of the success:
Here's the pastebin of the failure:

There are a couple errors in the failure which I'll quote below so they're easier to find in the log:
23:25:00 ERROR: [EXCEPTION] NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object
LeagueOfGeeks.ArmelloUnity.CardAffectingPlayerState.PlayCardVisualization (.AbstractGoTween goTween)
AbstractGoTween.onComplete ()
GoTween.update (Single deltaTime)
Go.handleUpdateOfType (GoUpdateType updateType, Single deltaTime)
Go.Update ()

23:25:01 ERROR: [EXCEPTION] NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object
LeagueOfGeeks.ArmelloUnity.CardAffectingPlayerState.PlayCardVisualization (.AbstractGoTween goTween)

I'm going to repeat this process a few times to see if I can get different logs and the same exception.

I played a game explicitly to get this to happen, I snapped a screenshot of what it looks like when you enter the Palace with The Stranger. The animation of the card flashes on your screen and doesn't go away.

The War Room / Re: Card management

Your Deck:
As others have pointed out, you want to cycle cards. The first couple turns, you want to make an effort not to hold onto useful cards either. You could very likely get a King's Proclamation which wipes your deck or swaps it. And, you really don't want your opponent getting a hold of that Immolation.

Toward Middle Game, you want to review what your opponents have. Perhaps they have a nice Blacksmith or Lionheart Breastplate, save up your gold and steal their precious good bits. If you're fast and you play it out of turn (when they can't roll against the peril), they might not even notice. Which of course is even better. (I've done this to Darcy. It was glorious).

Toward End Game, you want to start building up a set of cards which are strong for the ending you're going toward. If you're going for a Hot Rot Win (Wine) or Strategic Arrow (Strategist) with River, you want to flood your deck with defensive cards which can't be played against you and to reduce the chance of getting your "I Win" card stolen via a Glamour.  (This has also happened to Darcy, which was glorious).

Always be mindful of your position on the board as opposed to your opponents. This is key to building your defensive/aggressive cards. Everyone is out to kill you. Stay out of range of their spells if you can. If you must be in range, try to hide in the woods. If they are too close and likely to battle, keep some Wyld cards ready to burn and Shields. Nothing can surprise an opponent more when they come to hit you and you burn a few Wylds.  It's a minor gamble when you keep cards like this because they may go around you, you'll have to play the player here, and not the cards.

Their Deck:
What you don't have, your opponent likely has. There's a lot of benefit in watching your opponents perils and battles. Keep note of the type of cards they have. If you see your opponent with a lot of green cards, try to keep their magic low or stay out of range. The last thing you want to to is get sniped by magic damage.

There's some more advanced stuff here like purposefully trying to drain your opponent's magic with proclamations or Witch Hunters. Or just staying out of range or stealthed. You can also mentally track which cards are played (the action log is very helpful here), but I'm not sure if there's a tremendous amount of benefit because I don't fully understand the "deck" system of Armello intimately.
