Hello fellow Armellians

As you are all no doubt aware of at this moment, this community consists of people of all shapes, sizes, interests and professions.  Yesterday I had the pleasure of reading a webcomic called 'Beyond the Western Deep' which was drawn by none other then our resident artist @kobb!

http://www.westerndeep.net/ (http://www.westerndeep.net/)

So I was wondering what have you guys created.  Whether it be art, blogging, games, programs, clothes? whatever it is im really interested to see what the rest of this community has created in their spare time or as their job! So please post below so we can all see!!

I might as well. Well, I'm currently on hiatus due to college, but before I was occupied, I was a writer who specialised in Script Form. If you were to ask me what inspired me to pursue that form of writing, look up Oscar Wilde's Importance of Being Earnest. One of my favourite literary works to date.

When I was younger, I wrote for many projects, and I created many worlds with a friend of mine, but as time went on, I had to prioritise some things over others, and I had to put a halt to my stories. However, in a few weeks, I'll be back in business, but I will be taking things slower because not only do I want to work on details of my characters and the worlds they inhabit, I want to grow as a writer and improve my writing.

*So, if you know other script literature works like Importance of Being Earnest, do tell me, please.

Down below are a list of projects I wish to return to once I'm ready to take on writing again. I'm afraid I can't provide links to pics and such that give you an idea on what they are about, but don't be afraid to ask me. I take pride and find joy in telling people of my projects. It means a lot to me, really. Take a look. There's something for everyone.

1. CODE DELTA

Renacle was a young orphan, about to begin his first year in high school when an encounter with the mysterious Head Girl sends him on a journey through countless worlds. In his journey must he not only rescue orphans whose lives are in terrible danger, but he must also find the answers to countless questions. Why are people trying to kidnap the orphans? What makes them so special? And what's the meaning behind their 14th birthday?

2. BLOODJACK

In Vandum, you’d find its inhabitants indulging themselves in pleasure and lustful passion. However, the last thing you’d expect would be murder plaguing its streets. Once the detective Rosabelle del’a Coure arrives at the capital, she will enter a world of deceit and betrayal. With a hotel owner’s nephew and its resident “Flower Girls” assisting her in investigations, it won’t be long until the case is closed.

3. SONGS OF AITIRIA

Ever wondered what the hype behind the 2012 phenomena was about? Some say nothing happened when in actual fact, it did. No one witnessed a planet crossing Earth’s orbit, and very few people ever noticed some of their loved ones are involved in a world war. A war on the world of Aitiria.

4. BREADCRUMBS

Meet Blake Dalton. Average, closeted, oddball-kind of guy. If there’s anything interesting about this guy, its that he is about to accommodate one of the Butterfly House’s many college dorm rooms. Sharing the roof with a witch, a tanuki spirit, a muscle powerhouse and a biker who terrorizes the college town? What could go wrong?

5. S.O.U.L.

It is a well-known fact that in the country that gave birth to the first artificial intelligence, all males of age have to dedicate two years of their lives to national service. For one recruit, he is wary of his choices, for the wrong move may lead to an early grave. The fact he is chosen to be linked to a S.O.U.L. unit after an accident is not helping, but there seems to be something “unique” about this one.

6. THE TUTOR

Forester College has earned its reputation as one of the best and oldest schools in the country. It is also known for the best relations between student and teacher for one particular class and their tutor, Miss Nicolette. But what is the reason behind this? And how does this involve Patrick, the high school dropout with a big imagination?

I guess I might as well contribute too!

Well, I coded my website from scratch, which is something I'm pretty proud of. Also, even though it was school work, I'm rather proud of my thesis, which was focused on feral children. You can check it out here: http://kylafrank.com/feralchildren.php (http://kylafrank.com/feralchildren.php)

I also designed the badge  (http://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Tumblr_Vs_Reddit_Participant)for the TF2 Tumblr vs. Reddit competition (though the wonderful 3D artist Psyche is the one who modeled it), and did the art/am continuing to do the art for a silly game called Murder Herder (you can see the game demo here (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8id4CZSDAr0), but a lot has changed since).

I'm excited to see everything that everyone has made!

I've trying to make myself work further on a web comic of sorts but so far it's only got a few pages... I know what I want to do but I've failed to make it happen- Uni etc. has also got in the way a bit.

May as well link it though. There are more animal characters later on.
http://lessthanperfect.smackjeeves.com/comics/1908326/title-page/

Maybe if more people are interested I'd be more motivated to make more pages xD;
It's about a world in which people live their stories and tropes are used like magic by those who are powerful enough to manipulate them. Every now and then a person from our world is kidnapped into their and they become a 'Main Character.'

Post by: Xaroka on June 10, 2014, 10:28:24 PM
Since we all seem to be sharing and all...

I have my own little personal world by the name of Lunaria (Not the most ingenious name, but it works). and i have several stories taking plae in there (all WIP as I don't know which to start with) during the course of the planets history. My currnt main focus is to get all the cultures, creatures and languages nailed down through the different eras of that world (First era, somewhat high fantasy, second era, akin to modern day and third era wich is post apoc sci-fi).

As I'm doing the background work for it all, here are the planned stories so far.

First Era
(Fantasy time! with Elves and magic and swords and champions and... you know... stuff).

Tales of Lunaria
Vashadin is one of the many demon worshippers in the Las legionares cult, doing the things the council of three dictates as to the best of his abilities. His contracted partner, Rauxora is your average warrior type demon. However when the council summons him to tell him that he, has been selected to help find the chosen one from one of the demonic prophecies his minor role in the legionares cult changes drasticaly. The elven church of light have strted to become more aggressive and the prophesiced champion is the only one that can stop them.
(While a serious story in itself it is also suppouse to satire the classic "chosen one" mythos by having the main cast being on the "evil" side).

Second Era
(Not much planned here... It is a relativly boring era where the only thing that happens happens at the end of it...)

Third Era
(The only era that is pretty much mapped out in its entirety concerning background work, and unsuprisingly the one with the most stories planned)

The Ghost and the Moon (Title pending)

As the five champions ended the full faction war ten years ago, the peace have been teadious at best as the champion themselves seems to disapear from the face of Lunaria. Luna, the daughter of the champion Farola have been rasied among the humans at the behest of her mother and is being trained to fill the role of investigator for the Thildana goverment. During her first mission under her new mentor, codname Wraith, she stumbles upon a plot that will destroy the fragile peace. Can Luna and Wraith stop this plot in time? and what did happen to the Five champions? And what is the connection between the apocalyptic events that reshaped the whole planet 90 years ago and the constant demon incursions?
(First story I came up with from wich the whole world of Lunaria evolved from, but as much as I would like to start here, I feel that maybe I should start in the first era? )

The Hunters

The constant demon incursions have made alot of people take up arms and call themselves "Demon hunter", but Few of them last more then one day on the job. Shiroi Akaro works for the secretive Las Legionares, an independant corporation dedicated to traning the ones who show the mental and physical capabilites required. But the roots of their success are dark as each hunter is infused with demonic energy themseves to further improve their capabilities. A secret, they guard well. However during one of Akaros hunts he discover something interesting about Las Legionares past from thousands of years ago, the first era. With his trust in the copreration on shaky grounds, can he preform his job as a hunter while doing his on private investigations of the past?
(This is one of the thing i really want to do, not only show what become of the Las Legionares after the apocalypse, but also one of those find the truth stories.)

The Enharjar Cronicles (Title pending)
(planned a bit as a mini series of sorts or possible webcomic if i could get an artist, hence i have not planned much in general story as much as the focus lies on the characters in it. It takes place at the same time as The Ghost and the Moon.)
Korenam - Tough and rough human girl who serves in the Narigak army. Cut her own left arm off after she got bit by a werewolf to stop herself from becoming one. Have a cybernetic replacement.
Titania - A Leos sapien farmhand from Korike whom is seeking able warriors from to help stop a rebellion on her home island.
Bjorlam - Son of the champion Gunnahr, this Lupes sapien lazely rides along the wave of his fathers fame. Serves under Korenam in the Narigak army.
Arran - An old nine-tailed fox verteran from the full faction war who stood on Thildanas side in the war. Lunas mentor untill she was assigned to Wraith.  Now he has deceded to roam the world in search of the missing five champions.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thats it for now. in case you didn't notice some of the "connections" between different stories, let me point it out that i love complex and interwoven stories. carachter connections, locations artifacts plot points that span though several stories and doesn't seem to make sense untill you have read them all... (This is the main reason i haven't deceded where to start yet... some stories answer question not yet written, and vice-versa. its hard to know what to focus on due to that.)

//Xaroka, signing off for now

First of all, I continue to be impressd with the amount and quality of creative people in this comunity. It is awesome.

Secondly, I feel like I should chime in. I'm writing a book. I hope to publish it at some point, but for now I have a first draft which needs some editing.

The  working title of the book is "Marked for Death".
The concept is a rather diferent spin on fantasy, with afair bit of crime fiction mixed in. Put shortly, I am writing a murder mystery set in a fantasy setting. It's worth noting that this is not a standard fantasy setting. I have taken some liberties with physics and history, and established a city which is pretty much spearheading an industrial revolution. The city was originally a mining settlement build in a canyon, but when it grew to big for the canyon, layers where added, and now there are 15-20 layers of city in the same canyon.
The plot circles around a series of bodies found brutally murdered, all carrying the same mysterious mark. The main characters are pulled into the thick of things, one of them by virtue of being an expert on the occult and the other because he is marked as the next possible victim.

I can't really show anything here, but if all goes well, I might need beta readers at somepoint  ;)

Edit, added title  :)

@8bitproxy - thank you! I'm glad to hear it paid off. And I used a program called CoffeeCup, which is like dreamweaver but free. It's worked really well for me though, I'd recommend it.

@Xiander - that sounds like a really promising premise - I love fantasy and crime fiction! My interest is definitely peaked.

@LaughingLick - I've never heard of a story like that before! I would love to see how you develop it. :>

I'm pretty sure- it was working before and the new monitor only came with one cable that fits the computer- same one as the last monitor.

Assuming you still get the screens before Windows(?) loads, have you tried booting into safe mode? If that fixes things, you can reinstall drivers there.
Alternately, does the monitor act like there isn't even a computer connected? (Perhaps showing "No display device connected" or similar). That might be more likely to be something nastier going on, or just a loose cable/connection like 8Bit suggested.

Unfortunately nothing loads at all. Does not connect at all.  I've tried plugging it in and changing the monitor and changing it again and all in all it just won't connect. It did ONCE for a brief while before glitching out a few hours later. It was a life saver though because I had time to get my assignment off it at least.

Well, that's really a bummer...
Sounds like the monitor isn't the problem. Which isn't god, sise it means that the problem is probably the motherboard or grafics card....
Anyways, I wish you luck with fixing it.

To return a bit to the topic of the thread, I would love to hear more about people's creative ventures.
I have been making some headway with reading through my draft, but it takes longer than I wish it would. Still, progress is progress.

My tablet broke before I could finish the first real update, but I am working on an adventure/quest-style webcomic about some cutesy anthro dragons. I admit a lot of the lore (at least at this point) doesn't make much sense beyond "hey! it's magic!" and "convenient reasons for everyone to be traveling around the world." but I think it will be fun! I have some pretty neat things planned out/sketched up and my sister with a working tablet is coming home from visitation with our mom soon so I'll start chugging away at it then! Until that though you can look at the "prologue" and bookmark/follow the tumblr blog here! (http://rosegladequest.tumblr.com/)
Though to better gauge your interest the style will be more akin to this (http://i.imgur.com/eqyuYEU.png)

Hi,

Warning: long post ahead.

Aside from fiction like this piece of Armello "what if":

http://leagueofgeeks.com/forums/index.php?topic=559.0 (http://leagueofgeeks.com/forums/index.php?topic=559.0)

- most of my creative juices are spent on creating content for role-playing games, D&D mostly. Two campaigns in particular comes to mind.

One took place in Ravenloft (under AD&D 2nd Ed) and had a Dracula-ish castle complete with ruins, secret stairs and corridors, a wannabe vampire - who got his wish fulfilled of course - and a tragic love story between the lord's trusty henchman and the daughter of a Vistani (gypsy) witch, a story full of love, fear, loss, hatred all intertwined with the plans of an ages old lich in a kind of hibernation and a quest to resanctify a dwarven holy site. (Yep, I think that mostly covered that one.)

As for the other, that was one I suddenly realized had turned into an experiment. We are playing Basic D&D B/X (Red box rules). The story went that the "Beast" or "Hound" was about to awaken to Power so great as to make it a terrible god who would enslave all sentient life bit by bit if a certain ritual is not stopped (Anubis-like mummy going on godhood in underground temple complex complete with pyramid and lava pool for sacrifices). The PCs get information that impressed on them the need for immediate action, all amidst signs of the world coming to an end (dark clouds swirling above the city of Kelven in Karameikos, increasing rioting in the streets, horses spooked everywhere, murder and plundering, quakes and weird phenomena), and a Thieves' Guild gang war (or is it?). The only help they got was the 7 or 8 potions of healing they still had from the last (first, actually) adventure and a staff of healing that would work once on every person in the party.
When the full extent of the challenge dawned upon the players, my daughter and I had something like the following exchange:

She, incredulous: "But that's like saving the world...!"
I, trying not to show too much satisfaction: "That does kinda sound like it, doesn't it?"
She, horrified: "BUT WE'RE ONLY 1ST LEVEL!!!"

It was awesome.  ;D

Another thing is that we play on a virtual desktop, so I have to draw (or "steal" from the interwebs) pretty maps for the action. Here is something I have created (using a lot of Dundjinni community-supplied art) for an upcoming game session, based on the adventure "One Last Tribute" by Eran Aviram:

https://www.dropbox.com/sh/38t7dl1doogkr0x/AAB9nDP5KAeNjMbA0P-icrOGa?dl=0 (https://www.dropbox.com/sh/38t7dl1doogkr0x/AAB9nDP5KAeNjMbA0P-icrOGa?dl=0)

The original adventure can be found here:

Sorry for the wordy post. I'm just like that.  :)

Dont apologize for the wordy post, this is a personal works thread and I encourage you and everything else to blab and blab and blab until I need a second page! Great work on the story Uthin im sorry I haven't replied to it, it was one of those work weeks! I hope your D&D game goes awesome that art is looking swell  ;) Let me know who wins :P

So I got wordy over at the Artisan's Alley again. This time I had to spread it out over three posts, because a single post can only be 20000 characters long. Be warned.  ;)

Man, i never got around to reading the first one, Uthin.
I'll probably correct that tomorrow.  :D
(Also, I still have a Mercurio short of my own to  work on.)

On the topic of personal works, I started a new writing project this november, and currently have 50000 words on it... Sadly, I don't know if I actually like it enought to finish it.

50000... That is a lot of creativity!!!  8)

Well, if you do read the "Pen" story, I'd be very interested in hearing any comments you might have. My 7-year old son got it and my wife got it, but interestingly, my brilliant 18-year old daughter missed what was actually going on. So I'd be very interested in hearing your take on it...

And let me give you a gentle prod to get the Mercurio story done and shared..! ;)

Wooowowowowowo Snacuum tranformatorium...

new... look...  achieved!

Okay that's my new logo. The eponymous: Hockey Mask Tree Frog - as named by high school me many a year ago. This goes on or next to all my stuff wherever it may be.
Made in Illustrator, it's full vector and scales nicely for screen, websites, and print for business cards, posters and hopefully - t-shirts!

To check out my other stuff, head on over to:

DeviantArt  (http://snacuum.deviantart.com/)
Tumblr (http://snacuum.tumblr.com/)

The last Game Jam game I contributed to:
PERCEPTION (http://globalgamejam.org/2014/games/perception)

and a Twine story I wrote at Uni:
The Clockwork Cowboy (http://sta.sh/01jnoecrc7hd)

A full folio website is coming soon.
Other drawing, sketching, art writing and other tomfoolery links like FA will be coming soon.

Heh, I suppose it won't hurt to post it here..

I'm a printmaker and illustrator, though still studying. The oldest posts there are linocuts, followed by some other traditional media pictures - the newest obviously digital.

These are seriously Impressive Nasshnarah, Have you done any commercial work at all?
Also if you want homework, (totally for fun), draw up a theoretical Armello Card and see what the LoG Guys think of it?

Thank you both kindly.
No, I haven't done any commercial drawings yet. My school is pretty time consuming and makes it quite difficult.. I've done some requested works, but for free.

And that might be interesting exercise - I thought about doing some Armello fan art, but designing a card never crossed my mind to be honest. Thanks, I'll try to :).

I am a hobbist writer, start from fanfic and now moving to original fiction.

Right now I am also writing a pure text-based game, using ChoiceScript, about becoming overlord called 'Dark Lord'

Which made me wanted to ask, what kind of overlord would you like to play as?

I'm not gonna lie, I thought it said hobbit writer!  ;D

I would like to think that a fun one to play as would be one with somewhat positive motives (like getting a family member back, or what have you), that he achieves through less than 'good' means. They're a lot more three-dimensional characters in my opinion. Of course, once his conquest is through, he would just hold the portions he has conquered because...well, why not? Wouldn't be an over lord then, now would he?  ;)

I am working on a fantasy novel:

and as a freelance writer for http://www.hardcoregaming101.net/
(I won´t link directly to the articles since they use my real name but feel free to PM me and I will link to my writing)

My main project at the moment is a point and click game.

These are just placeholder graphics (except for the two main characters). I may make a seperate thread for this when the demo is ready.

Oh, and I also got a lot of miscellaneous stuff up on my website:
